advice please! i dont know what to do!?

So my doctor just called me saying that they called my insurance to see whats covered for birth. And although this is the SAME insurance SAME doctor that i went to for my daughter (which was mostly all covered)... They just said my insurance is not covering anything and that i have 'no dependant medical coverage' whatsoever. This is my dads insurance that i have always been covered under as i am only 22.

First of all, what do i do? Ask them why my birth isnt covered? Cancel my name off his insurance and get free health care?

I feel so weird about it since this insurance has always had me with the same obgyn and hospital. :( i dont want to transfer doctors, because i am very happy with this office and comfortable with my dr and she delivered my first baby.

U should just get Medicaid then you don't have to pay at all u can even get it and they will pay the remainder of the bill

depending on where u live u may be able to apply for.medicad for ur little one already. i have medicad already and when i told them i was pg they changed everything for me and i got a medicad card at around 12weeks(im 24w now) for her. so now when i go to the hospital for my delivery i can just give them her personal card.

Same thing happened to me. I was under my mom for optima insurance. And they wouldn't cover the baby so I switched to medicad and they let me keep the same doctors and everything. And they cover you and the baby 100%.

Thank you! I was freaking out but i called my insurance and they assured me im covered 80%. I guess my doctor needs to talk to me since my newborn will not be covered. Which happened before with my first. I had to apply for her own insurance after she was born. Im guessing i cant get my son insurance until he is actually here but i guess ill find out soon.

I would call and find out why and possibly see if the details of the insurance have changed. That could happen. It happened to me a few years back. I was under my parents insurance at the time being that i was under the age of 25. When i became pregnant, the insurance deemed me my own independant therefore could not be covered. It covered everything else just not my pregnancy. But definately call and be proactive in getting the information just to be certain. It could also just be a mistake on the drs staff as well.
