I'm an x-ray tech. and the amount of radiation you'd get from having a hip x-ray is not harmful to the baby.. obviously in most cases we use a lead apron to block any unnecessary radiation to any part of the body.. including the breasts, throat, etc. but if the x-ray to that part of the body is necessary, one x-ray will not cause any harm. --- it's like this crazy myth.. standing in the sun for approximately 30 min., no shade, on a bright, sunny, hot day is equivalent to getting a chest x-ray.. not as serious as people think. you get much more radiation during a fluoroscopy exam.. just my 2 cents! hope all is well! I had 3 xrays and  2 ct scans with contrast with this pregnancy and my baby is fine I was between 3-9wks when they did all this xrays because of my kidneys & my gallbladder but I didn't know I was pregnant until I was like 10wks! My drs  didn't notice but they told me the radiations they used are to low to cause any damage.

Just talk to the dr. let them know you're pregnant!

I had to take my 5 month old to the hospital 2 weeks ago and they had to do a xray to make sure there was no fluid in his lungs and they made me leave the room when they did the xray because I'm pregnant so I don't think they'll give you a xray

I had to get an X ray on my knee. Dr said it was fine. Don't know if the hip is fine though.

X-ray is dangerous to the baby, tell them you are pregnant.

No they wont do an xray. The radiation is risky to the fetus. Tell them you are pregnant and good luck. Hopefully they find the cause of your hip pain.

Ultrasound can also detect a lot of things. The go to diagnostic for gallbladder and appendix is usually x Ray unless you're pregnant. Ask about am ultrasound or some other non x Ray diagnostic.
