Ouch! My ribs!!

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I can't handle the pain I get in my ribs! It's like the are sinking into me, and it's so dang uncomfortable unless I lay flat on my back. Is this normal!? And why does this happen!?

I'd much rather feel the bladder kicks than the rib cage kicks! So painful. When your baby drops you'll feel some relief.
