Hello Doctor,
My father had a by-pass surgery in the month of March. Then after 2 months he had urinary infection and we had to test PSA count which was 20. So the doctor suggested Biopsy and the result suggested traces and again he was suggested a full body scan. The reports are given below. So please let us know if the report suggest any seriousness in cancer and what could be done. Please suggest.
TRANSRECTAL-PROSTATE
Report:
Prostate measures 3.2 X 4.8 X 3.1 cms. It shows diffuse heterogeneous echogenicity with evidence of ill defined multiple hypoechoic areas and small nodular changes. The outlines are well defined. The vascularity is increased.
Seminal vesicles are enlarged and cystic.
IMPRESSION:
--------------------
-Diffuse heterogenous nodular changes with increased vascularity of the prostate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nuclear bone whole body
Provisional Diagnosis/clinical Data
CA PROSTATE
Report:
Tc-99m MDP delayed whole body sweep/static study in multiple views shows good tracer uptake by skeletal system for the patient’s age.
Increase in tracer concentration is seen in the following regions:-
-B/L 1st ribs,right 7th rib laterally
-Scapulae
-sternum (Post CABG changes)
Evidence of degenerative changes are seen in vertebrae, shoulders & knees.
Costochondral calcifications are noted.
Rest of the bones show physiological tracer distribution.
Both kidneys are visualized.
IMPRESSION:
------------------
- increase in tracer concentration seen in the above mentioned regions- metastases is a possibility, in view of the clinical history.
SUGGESTED:
---------------------
- X-ray correlation
- Follow-up study
Your feedback is going to help us in a better way to give him better treatment.
Thanks,
