MRI scan extended, why?

Hello, I'm wondering if someone could help me please. An MRI of head, cervical and thoracic spine was ordered by my neurologist to look for MS lesions after having some neurological problems. After nearly 2 hours the ?radiographer said that she'd decided to scan my full back instead. When I asked why I got the impression there was a good reason but of course she is not allowed to give diagnoses so just sort of brushed it off. I am wondering what could have made her continue and whether this happens regularly? I have to wait for the results but she gave the impression the Dr would be in touch soon so I've sort of accepted something's been found but I'd love to understand what might have made the extension seen important. Do any of you clever people know please?
