5 week Cough/Phlem

I have a cough with phlem for about 5 weeks.  The odd thing is i don't feel sick.  I work out/weights 3 mile walk and feel good doing it.  My wife seems to have similar symtons for about the past 2 weeks.  Seen a doctor - got anti biotics (no help) steriod (some help).  At times it seems to go away then i get another episode.

What's goin on?

I have read all the coments and would agree to the different ways everyone has stated the symtons. I am frustrated that this keeps coming back and doctors are not able to dignose.

Saw my ENT and he did a sinus x-ray, no sinus infection.  Ears are fine.  He thinks it is due to the mile high desert air we live in or due to the many medications I take.  I did just start taking blood pressure medication which can cause cough.  I see my pulmonologist next week as I have asthma.  I will let you know if I find out anything from him.

I have the same thing, except mine started out as an URI and went into an ear infection.  Antibiotics helped some, but the cough is getting worse.  I think it is in my sinuses and the cough is from the drainage from there.  

I have an appt. on Monday with my ENT.  I will let you know what I find out.
