Blood Pustules in Sinus

About a week ago I had oral surgery for some gum grafts. Within a couple of days I noticed that I had blood in my sinuses.  When I was finally able to blow something out it was a large pustule of blood.  Over the next few days I managed to dislodge a couple more like this.  When I finally talked to the dentist he said it definately wasn't related to the surgery and that I should see my regular dr about a possible sinus infection.  I have an appt later today to see the nurse practioner (that was the best they could do).  I just managed to blow out another large chunk of this bloody gunk.  I've had problems with sinus infections before but NEVER anything like this.

Did they say there was a chance of peircing sinus linings between the gum and sinuses ?

If so , that might have occured . Do you get nose bleeds too ?

I had a wisdom tooth out , and wouldn't you know , a couple hrs. after I got home I had nose bleeds . I think the did peirce my sinus linings . I quit after a week or so .

They did a quick job at it , as they were behind with appointments because of emergencies .

I still feel like there is some tooth bone back there .

Will see on my next dental Appoint.

Ive had the same thing for years and am battling a 2 month long one
now. Mine is not an infection really but inflammation and damaged cilia
from smoking cigarettes, dust, pollen, painting without a  mask etc.
Mine are so large that they cause incessant headaches. about 1/2 in
thick and the size of a quarter usually. Ive finally quit smoking but
my body is slow to recover. Ive had surgery once but would not
recommend if you can let your body try and get rid of it. Its
expensive, painful and if many times unneccesary. Use Simply Saline the
salty one 1x a day and the Simply Saline regular (or equivelant) 2x a
day (See also Neti Pot).
Use hot packs (not too hot) and steam regularly. Massage does
wonders in helping relieve the pain and speed healing also. (forehead,
under eyes, above your forehead also.) Get a bloodtest to confirm a
suspect infection just in case. Good luck!
