You should request time to continue the conversation with your doctor and seek his/her recommendations. There are 2 issues. First, you should see an endocrinologist for assessment of your thyroid and more specifically the 1.1 cm nodule. Most general doctors, even internal medicine doctors, do not have the expertise to advise you on this. Further testing will be needed to determine the nature of the nodule and this may involve needle aspiration or biopsy.
Second, the lung lesions sound benign enough but warrant further investigation. The first thing you should do is to try to locate any previous chest x-rays for comparison with the current chest x-ray. If the abnormalities, patchy opacity and nodularity, were present sometime ago, nothing more need be done. If no prior x-rays are available, you will need to see a lung specialist.
The 2 problems may or may not be related. Neither one of your problems should be ignored nor investigation delayed.
Is there any relation between adrenal insufficiency, secondary to Cushing's Syndrome, and a 4 mm nodule, as discovered through an x-
ray and follow-up CT?
