Correlation between the use of Singulair and hypertension

I was told I have chronic rhinitis and was prescribed Singulair and Flonase. My BP has always been between 120/70-130/70, now my BP has jumped to 150-160/90-110.  Is there a correlation between the use of these drugs and hypertension?

I know of no correlation between Singulair® (montelukast sodium) or Flonase® (fluticasone) and high blood pressure.  However there is always the possibility of an unusual response.  You should talk with your doctor about this and continue to monitor your blood pressure closely.  You should also check the accuracy of your blood pressure measuring device.  There are a variety of causes of high blood pressure.  Whatever the cause of the blood pressure elevation, you and your doctor need to find it.

I tried singulair last year and had to cease after 5 days due to hypertension,agitation,nausea and increased s.o.b.It appears i was sensitive to the product, perhaps this could be happening to you as well.
