Enlarged Lymph Nodes

My granddaughter is 7 years old.  She has gotten pneumonia each for the past three years.  Last week she had pneumonia Xray was taken and antibiotic was given to her and she seems to be feeling fine now.  However when she was taken for a follow-up the doctor had said the radiologist said her lymph nodes were enlarged and a followup should be done at the end of the week.  My daughter is beside hersel with worry and so am I.  Could we be looking at something worse to come?

You never let us know how your grandaughter is doing.  I am sure all went well.  Usually 7 year olds are very resulent and bounce back very quickly.  Am I correct.??? Is she fine now.  Just read about her and hoping all is fine (I am sure it is)

Hi, what i understand from your post is enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes. These nodes get enlarged in cases of tuberculosis, fungal or viral infections, lymphoma etc. For exact diagnosis CT scan or mediastinal biopsy is usually done.

Once the cause is established, patient is treated accordingly. Please relax and follow doctor's advice

Bye and take care
