I'm concerned

I was taking a huge anti biotic today and I think I swallowed it wrong or something. I placed it on my toungue then as I brought my water glass to my mouth the pill was gone! Now my chest kind of hurts and I feel weird to say the least. Any ideas? The middle of my stomach hurt really bad until I drank water but what I am more concerned about is if it is in my lungs and how I would know if it was. I didn't cough or anything just chest pain and abdomen pain. Thanks

It probably slipped down your esophagus and got stuck halfway or slowed down in the middle (might explain the pain) until you drank more water. Many antibiotics make your stomach feel like that, zithromax does that to me.  I have done this myself a few times and it is uncomfortable. IF it landed in the lungs, you would have known it...people with normal gag reflexes and swallowing cough and sputter if even a little water goes down the wrong way, at least that is what I have observed in my years of pill giving as a nurse . A pill would have triggered explosive coughing if it got that far....or even choking!
I hope this helps..Sunny
