I'm getting awoken by phantom smells, and I need help.

Okay so a couple of months ago (February 27th, 2018) I had a kitchen fire. I have been living out of hotels ever since, but will be moving home to a newly-refurbished house soon.

I'm concerned because some nights, I'll wake up to a burning plastic smell - identical to the burning plastic smell I woke up to the morning of the fire.

Most nights I'm fine, but it happens around 3 times every 2 weeks. It's honestly terrifying, as waking up to the smell makes me remember every detail about the morning of the fire - something I really do not want to think about.

At this point, I'm considering talking to a therapist and/or a doctor, as I just want to stop waking up in the middle of the night, smelling that smell when there's nothing burning.

I posted to the Respiratory Disorders section, as I feel it could be related to my respiratory system. If I posted it in the wrong place, please tell me where to post it.
