Inconclusive Needle Biopsy

gc1
I have just completed a needle biopsy which came back as "inconclusive" although the doctor who did the biopsy said while I was still on the table that preliminary results showed positive for cancer. My Primary Care says they are recommending PET scan next and it looks like my insurance will pay for it. Does anyone know much about inconclusive results from needle biopsy? Does this mean more likely not Cancer or more likely Cancer? Is a PET Scan Conclusive? Will it tell me what if anything is wrong? What would next step be if PET scan not conclusive? Should I have surgery to remove tumor anyway? 2 weeks ago tumor was 1CM but not sure if it still is.

Any help would be appreciated.

No they haven't.  However we have allergy proofed the bedroom and they are not coughing near as much!  Hopefully we are on the right track.  Thanks for responding.
