Lung Nodule

I had a CT Scan last year, March "06", due to some breathing issues. Turned out to be asthma. This CT Scan showed a 3mm nodular density in the left upper lung and being a 40 year old former smoker I was prety scared. Well, 12 months past and 4 CT scans later this nodule is still unchanged and my Pulminoligist is confident that it is benign. I will need two more CT scans in 6 and 12 months to be 100% certain, but I am no longer worried. I would like to thank the Doctors who run this forum as well as offer this as some reasurance to those who are going through the same thing that I have, it was very scary for a while. GOD Bless!

I recently had a chest xray because of a cough I've had for a few weeks.  The radiologist said there is a nodule in the upper right part of the lung.  Actually, I don't remember if they said "a nodule" or "nodules".  The primary doctor didn't see this initially so I'm guessing they are pretty small.

From what I've been reading, having more than one is much worse than a single nodule.  Is this true?  I'm 46, never smoked and am in otherwise excellent health - I think.

This does have me concerned.  Should I be?  I'm seeing a different doctor to two days to set up the appointment for the CT.  In the meantime, this is stressing me out.  What can anyone tell me.  My mother had colon cancer and even though I was tested a few years ago, I read about metastasis and get concerned all over again.  Any more info would be appreciated.
