I am a nurse and this happens to me. I am even unsure of what exactly it is. I do have GERD sometimes, but it is very different from the asthma like symptoms I experience after meals. GERD causes a burning type feeling, this is too much mucus in your lungs type of problem. I have decided to start a log of when it happens and when it doesn't and exactly what I was eating at the time.
