Definitely look into generics, they are cheaper. Sometimes drug companies offer help as well. Search on sites such as freemedicine.com to see what companies are offering help. It is a shame that meds are so expensive, I am lucky to have help otherwise I would either not eat or take my meds. I took care of many patients who came into the hospital with exacerbations from their diseases. Many cases were because they could not afford the meds that would keep their diseases in check. Unfortunately, docs would label them "non-compliant" because they weren't taking their meds. Alot of these folks were elderly and on severely fixed incomes who couldn't spare anything extra for meds. A shame I know.
Anyhow, I hope that you get the help that you need. I would also ask your doc if he or she has samples of Levaquin to give you. My doctor gives me my monthly insulin and other meds that aren't covered by insurance, maybe your doctor has a sample stash to help you with.
Good luck and feel better.
