Sinusitis: Not going away

I was diagnosed with sinusitis a month ago. The CT Scan showed clearly that I had the infection. I was immediately prescribed Amoxicillin which failed to do anything at all. I have also been through Clarithromycin, which I was allergic to and had to stop after the first dose, and Azythromycin which didn't help much.

The symptoms I have having are all pressure related, generally located between my eyes, forehead, temporal region, and sometimes an aching neck if I'm having a headache.

Can anyone suggest anything or possibly relate to any of this? It's becoming extremely irritating to go through different antibiotics and not have any real success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This allergy medication is just making me feel really tired, but I have no more pressure.

I'm wondering if my body is still a little exhausted from fighting off an infection for a month?

I'm on a daily multivitamin and I'm trying to bounce back from this and get to feeling 100% again.

Thanks for the post!

I went to the doctor this morning and she believes that it was allergy related sinusitis which she said isn't treated by antibiotics.

The good news is, yesterday when I was outside my pressure was completely relieved in a split second, it was really odd, but I'm extremely relieved.

I'm not on a one a day allergy medication and hoping that it will control my problem.

Logan, I feel your pain...Have you considered going to an ENT doctor? Particularly since you have had failure with treatment thus far. He or she may have other suggestions for treatment or figuring out just what is growing in your sinuses. One time I had severe sinus issues that did not resolve with antibiotics, my ENT doc finally performed a sinus scraping (they put me under and cleaned out my sinuses) which revealed that I was growing out fungus, not bacteria which explained why antibiotics weren't working. He switched me to an antifungal and I felt better. I still have issues with my sinuses, usually a combination of antibiotics work for me. I hope that you get answers soon..Sunny

Woke up this morning and my neck feels slightly better and the pressure is moved back to between my eyes/nose, but I feel like I haven't slept in days.
