I am a 41 y/o male with situs inversus totalis and also celiacs disease. I have lived a completely normal life and have a healthy 22 y/o daughter who has normal organ transition. Except for chronic sinus issues, I can say that there have really been no limits of what i was/am allowed to do. I spent the first 39 years with no real answers and then became informed of the "disorder" by my GI doctor, of all people.
As i understand it, I should lead a fairly normal life span. One of the biggest issues surround the celiac cells being reversed and not sweeping away organisms effectively. This is the primary factor for the respiratory difficulties. I did play sports in high school and coached high school soccer in my adulthood. I am no physician, but based solely on my life experiences, i would say that your son should turn out just fine and lead a normal life.
Has anyone any experience with the disorder Situs inversus totalis. My son receives aggressive threatment with antibiotics to prevent lung damage, and progression to Kartageners syndrome. He is on inhalers daily. If anyone can help or know where there is relevent research.
