I too had a similar condition with diaphragm and neck issues. I am wondering if you ever found an answer or cure for your condition?
Hi, did your doctor specify the diagnosis as swollen diaphragm or unilateral diaphragm paralysis? because with trauma you're most likely to have unilateral diaphragm paralysis. According to studies done, unilateral diaphragm paralysis (UDP) decreases pO(2) substantially and breathing capacity by more than 1/3, but spontaneous recovery is possible and this occurs more commonly in children. In patients who are incapacitated; diaphragm resection produces clinical improvement via lower lobe re-expansion. So, please discuss this with your doctor. Regards.
