What causes sudden diffuculty in breathing?

It happened twice already: today and about 5 days ago, I suddenly experience sudden difficulty in breathing, it's like my breathes are incomplete and during the episode, when I yawn it feels incomplete. Coincidentally I lack full sleep lately for several days this past week, could it be the cause or something else?  Should I go to the doctor?

could be something with your diaphragm.  yes, it's worth getting it checked
because it can eventually lead to other problems.
Can also have a connection to sleep apnea, although I realize this is not when you are sleeping, but similar symptoms
