Dear BennyMars
You probably have a physical, mechanical problem (rather than a viral infection), going by what you say. One safe, simple and cheap recommendation for unclogging a blocked sinus is a system called Yoga Neti. Search for it on Goggle. It is a traditional part of yoga, and uses a warm water solution with salt dissolved in it, poured into your nose. This can beautifully clear out your sinuses, if you do it every day.
I used it to help with my hayfever, at it really greatly improves the heath of your nasal cavities. Put enough salt in to the warm water, so that the is a mild sting (but no pain) when you pour it into your nasal cavity through your nose.
Move your head to slosh the warm water around the nasal cavity.
Advanced techniques are to hold your nose closed with your thumb and finger (with your nasal cavity full of water), tilt you head down, and with your mouth firnly closed also, suck for a moment , and then blow. Repeat this slowly. This will force the cleaning water water into your sinuses, and help clean them out.
Blast out the water from your nose of a minute. Then repeat with fresh warm salty water. Do 5 to 10 repeats of this. It can take up to ten minutes to complete (all this is best done in private, in a bathroom).
Good luck. 6000 years of tried and tested tradition is behind yoga.
ok im going to share a short story about my experience.
before my life is wonderful. im handsome, have a pleasing personality, have manyfriends and do not have any failing grades.
this was 4 years ago.. so perfect before ^_^, until this simple accident occurs. a metal thing hit my nose. as a result, having a slight deviated septum,(one of the hole of my nose became tiny). after that sinusitis.
before, i did'nt realize that i have a problem on my nose, because im not a self conscious guy. i finally notice it when i started to think.. "what the hell is happening to me" (because i changed mentally and socially).
after my nose was hit, i felt very very very uncomfortable. because i cant really breathe well. (most of the times i breathe deeply). this affects my mood, i became self conscious and having difficulty to concentrate on my studies, having troubles on my sleep (4 hours of sleep, having a DAILy nightmares, much worst i remember it after i wake up). when i cant breathe on either one of my nose i started to feel pain in some parts of my body. this experience changes my whole personality for worst...
i really felt the depression (for the first time in my life) when i realize that my friends and my classmate attitude/behavior towards me change. i dont know how to explain this but, they do not get along with me. some of my friends having a joke with me saying....... "are you ok?" and some saying "are you taking drugs". and one of my proffesor asked me "why are you kind of disturbed?"
this really shocked me... absolutely shocked me. after this experience. i became unsocial. I left my friends. i dont get interested on talking to people. i feel very scared when walking outside my house, my heads down when i walk.
and this is the time i asked my self "whats wrong with me" and i started to analyze things. and i realized that i have a sinusitis and i have difficulty breathing on one hole of my nose. this time i consulted a doctor a ENT.
mydoctor told me that i have a sinusitis and a slight deviated septum (my sinusitis was caused by the deviated septum). the doctor asked me when andhow this accident happen, and i started to recalled things and i remember andtold him that a metal hits my nose.
after consulting the doctor, walking on my way home. i realized that before my nose was hit. everything is fine. (not only physically but also mentally and socially). and started to laugh saying, so this is the cause of all of my problems. after this, the way i think changed. im mean i became scientific and logical. i started to have interest on human mind, body and psychology. but im still unsocial.
i dont have the money for the surgery. so im just tried to live with it.^_^
Hi BennyMars
I would be interested in reading some details.
You can post here, on my site http://chronicsorethroat.wordpress.com/

i also the same as you Melted27, i have a sinusitis and a mild deviated septum. i dont know the connection but sometimes, if i cant breath either on one of the hole of my nose, some part of my body feels pain. like on my knees. on my chest. and on the nerve of my testes.
i believe that there is a strong connection of sinusitis (or deviated septum) on the pain that we felt on some part of our body. I really want to have a surgery but i dont have the money.so I used to live with it.
just be calm, relax. AND DONT WORRY. this will reduce the pain.
sorry for my grammar, english is our second language.
This is a complex problem, one probably not due to stress, or "smoking and drinking too much". The pain behind your knees, in the absence of swelling, such as with a fluid collection, in conjunction with "pins and needles" suggests a neurologic cause, either a peripheral neuropathy or inflammation of nerve roots or pressure from a herniated disc in the cervical spine. The sore throat, jaw pain and stones, possibly from the salivary glands, are probably unrelated to the pain and pins and needles. While pins and needles can be a reflection of anxiety, 10 months is a long time for the persistence of these symptoms. Pain is not usually a symptom of anxiety.
You need a good neurological examination and may well need an MRI of your cervical spine. Your best bet for both would be to arrange for consultation with a neurologist. We would be most interested in the cause of your symptoms, if one is found.
Ps There is an ear, nose, and throat forum which would include sinusitis.
This is not the doctor/nurse form, just us patients! Sinusitis can be related to teeth issues like abcesses. Pins and needles feelings are classically related to anxiety, especially if it is intermittent. Sinusitis is just an infection of the sinuses, that's all.
Is what I have unheard of??? No one who has had similar symptoms??? Have I blown your mind doctor??? Anybody who could politely reply to my post???
Love and peace to all!
