Hi
Sorry I haven't replyed sooner (up and down to hospital visiting). I really don't know what a controller medication is - I don't think he is on any.
Is he on a controller medication like Advair?
Sorry forgot to add he also has tinitus now as a result of the one of the antibiotics they used the last time (gentomicin) I think.
Hi
Thanks for replying. We don't know what his blood work is although they do take blood frequently before and during the intravenious antibitoics.
For asthma he just has inhalers that he doesnt need to take that often (Serevent and Ventolin) For exzema he was on Elecon Ointment but he has just been recenlty taken of that because of the effect it was having on his skin (easily bruised) and they are now worried about bone density he is now on Hydrocortisone cream and uses Oilatum cream and bath lotion.
His current infection is in his lungs and the drug he was prescribed for his skin was Ciclosporin 100mg caps twice daily. He started taking them in July 2009
sorry I am not entirely sure of time I think it was for about 3 months then he started to get unwell and was admitted to hospital for the first time around about oct nov that year. Thats when they did tests (bronchoscopy) and found he had contracted Pseudomonas
He was admitted on Monday for the third time this year already and is currently on intavenous antibiotics and will be in for 10 days to 2 weeks.
I hope this helps if you need more information I can find out exactly at visiting tomorrow.
Thanks very much for your help
I am guessing they have done blood work...can you post his WBC and Differential?
What meds (name, dose, frequency) is he taking for his asthma and eczema? Where is his current infection located (a wound, lungs?)
What drug was he prescribed (the one that compromises the immune system) When did he take it (dates to and from) and what was the dosage?
