covering face while sleeping

heloo i would like to ask , can covering ur face with a blanket during sleep cause hypoxemia or hypercapnia although there is no signs of respiratory distress ,, imean silet hypoxia thing during sleep ??!

Hi and sorry for the late reply, its best sleep with the face uncovered. Like you mentioned you could be re breathing the same air with less oxygen content. There could be small ‘loopholes’ through which there may be air exchange. In the absence of which, yes there could be hypoxia and hypercapnia, which can cause drowsiness and dizziness. So, try to avoid this. Regards.
