Genital warts

Hi doctor, my history is as follows. I had a drunken stupid encounter with a CSW worker in Ireland in march 2010. I am in a long term relationship with my now fiancé for over 13 years. After my stupid encounter I got tested for std and everything came back negative. I slowly tried to put my stupid encounter behind me. Earlier this year I became worried about genital warts again as I found a small lump under my penis head on theskin that connects the foreskin to the penis. It's like a wart! I went to first specialist who put vinegar on the wart and after telling me he was not sure if it was a wart or not, told me to keep an eye on it. This as you can imagine caused me some anxiety. The fillowing week I went to another specialist who after looking at area believed it was not a wart. I then seeked a third opinion yesterday and the specialist I seen immediately put liquid nitrogen on the area and said it could be a small wart. After 30 seconds later she said it was not a wart. Now today The area around my penis is red and kind of swollen. How long do you think this will last for? Also doctor can I get your opinion on my encounters, because I really do not know wat to think. Is it possible for warts to grow on tip of penis whilst wearing a condom and do you think it could be likely for a wart to grow two years after my encounter? Any advice would be grateful as I don't know what to think and I'd hate to give my fiancé genital warts!! Thanking you in advance

Hi doctor it's been 3 days since the liquid nitrogen was applied to my penis, however the area is still swollen, red and looks more like a wary now than ever before!! Does this sound normal? Please advise me doctor as I am going out of my mind with worry here. Thanking you in advance.

Thank you for your help doctor,I now believe it cannot be a wart as it was over two years ago since my stupid encounter. Since the liquid nitrogen was applied to the area, it has kind of got bigger and has a white head on it. Does this sound normal? I'm looking forward to getting this whole episode behind me.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Firstly it is difficult for me to tell you if it is a wart or not without seeing you.  However if it is a wart, it cannot be related to that sexual encounter as HPV usually disappears from your system after approximately 18 months.  Therefore whatever you have developed it cannot be related to that sexual encounter in question.  If you were going to develop warts, this would have happened after a few weeks of the sexual encounter.  Using condoms reduces the chnce of HPV transmission, and if you were wearing a condom, it is highly unlikely that you would have developed a wart on an area of your penis that was covered by the condom.
The cryotherapy treatment received always causes inflammation lasting for a few days, and then the area will scab over, and after a week or so, it will fall off spontaneously.

Best wishes,
Dr José
