Advice

Hi Guys, (if there is a more appropriate room I should post this, please let me know)

After 7 weeks of convincing myself I had an STD my GUM doctor has convnced me I do not. I had bloods done, 3 and 1 1/2 weeks ago I had a swab. All clear. Last week I thought I had an infectous spot on the inside of my foreskin but turns out it has been there for years!! The tip of my penis is now red and sore or sensitive might be a better way to describe., this is not my imagination however I think it is probibly from all the poking, swabbing and pealing back the foreskin (Uncut), possibly a simple infection (not std). I have just finished a 10 day course of Ciprofloxacin. Should i be using cream? or just letting it settle?

thanks

1. Yes, the body/mind is more powerful then you can even imagine.
2. No
3. Antibiotics can have side effects, but if you had a STD those would have cured gonnorhea and chlamydia. But you don't have a STD.

Hi,

Since posting I have been on a roller coaster, you comments would be appreciated. I went to a private GUM Doctor and expalined my situation, he said no HIV risk and little STD risk, however for my peace of mind he did blood test, urine test and swab, all at 4 weeks. He put me on a one 4 tablet does of Azithromycin to be iron clad. All were clear. two weeks later I was having a pain in my left testicle, like a pulsing pain that came and went, not there at night, mostly when sitting. Not sore to touch. I went to my GP and he said it could be Epiditymitis and put me on a weeks course of Ciprofloxacin. Two days later I went back to GUM doctor as concerned about the epiditymitis being std related. He examined me and said it was not epiditymitis, he did a second swab and urine test, all clear. A week later I had a slight pain on the tip of my penis, occasional sore testicles and needing to urinate more often. I went to GP who tested for UTI with urine test, was clear. I went to GUM doc next day, again all looked normal however the swab test was showing slightly reduced white blood cell count but was boarderline. He said had I not been showing the other symptoms he would have said it was ok but sent it off to the labs for STD conformation (he said he would be astounded if it were std related). He put me on a weeks course of Doxycycline and an antibiotic for Uritis (just in case). These came back a week later clear. I am still getting pulsing pain in left testicle, sometimes right. This is not at night, generaly when in jeans and sitting but occasionally at ather times, not sore to the touch. My lower back is getting sore also. STD and HIV is on my mind 24 Hours a day.

1. Could this be down to anxiety, even though i can feel it.

2. Could 3 - 4 swab, urine tests be wrong??

3. Would the anitbiotcs have sorted any std? could they be making my body feel run down (having so many in a short time)

You comments would be very helpful.

Thank you .

Thanks for your response Grace. Yes, he checked my prostate manually last week. He did another swab, this time he says it has come up borderline, he has sent it off to be checked. I seem to have some sort of bladder infection, he says he would be amazed if it were from STD, but I will know next week. Very, very long week!!

thanks

not likely this is std related. you also covered a lot of the std bases already with the antibiotics you've been on too.

having someone perform oral sex on you is low risk overall. not likely you'd contract a std from it. have they checked your prostate manually yet?

don't let the guilt of the encounter in question cause you to think you were at higher risk than you really were.

.I have been on a roller coaster over the last 8 weeks. I came in a guys mouth 8 weeks ago, after giving and recieving hand jobs. I had been feeling run down for the following weeks so went to a GUM doctor, privately at his home. He said no risk of HIV but did blood test, he took a urine sample and a swab from penis. At that stage i had no symptoms. He was able to confirm that both swab and urine tests were clear ( gave me oral antibiotics to be sure)and the HIV test would take a week. A week later he confirmed the test was clear.
At six weeks I had a dull pain in my testicles, not to touch, this got worse over a few days, so went to GP, he said it could be epididymitis and put me on 10 day course of Ciprofloxancin.
Worried, 3 days later I went back to my GUM doc, he said he did not think it was Epididymitis, he did swab and urine test for stds to be sure, both clear again. He told me it was probibly anxiety and I needed to move on.
& days later I had sex with my partner, the next day I thought i found a spot on the inside of my foreskin, i went back to my GUM doc how said It has always been there! I felt so relieved. Over last week though I sarted to get a slight pain in the tip of my penis, this has moved on to a dull pain / sensation, feel the need to pee more often and my testicles also have a dull pain, not sore to touch. I went to GP 2 days ago thinking it was a urine infection but it is not. I have also had sore throat and sore stomach. I am worried it could be more and I have now infected my partner. Could two swab tests at 4 and 6 weeks be wrong? Could anxiety really cause this pain? The pain / sensation is worse as the day goes on, no pain when sleeping. I drive a lot so feel it could be increased by the pressure of sitting? any advice welcome
thankks

Let it settle.  Try using a medicated water based lubricant.  Try to refrain from masturbating for a couple of days to ensure you are not exacerbating the inflammation
