Well herpes lesions appear from 2 to 10 days post exposure. At this point no one knows. Herpes is called the great imitator as could be confused with other things. But a rash is most likely a rash.
This happened the weekend that just passed would there be signs of an std already? Or more likely friction?

Hi and very well could be friction and bacteria from sweat. Herpes sores are more of a blister or clusters. Rashed tend to be rashes. Was this protected with both people?
