Bump on the roof of my mouth

Hello, I'm waiting for an appointment with a doctor, but I'm hoping one of you may be able to assuage my fear of herpes.  7 weeks ago, a period of time when I was having unprotected oral sex with a questionable partner, I began having a sore throat, which lasted about 2 weeks.  5 weeks ago the roof of my mouth became painful and swollen.  After two days the blister burst and some fluid came out.  After that, the blister was no longer painful and shrank to about half the size.  It is now smooth and elongated, sort of vein shaped, and is at most an inch long.  There is no discoloration, no pain and it is not an open sore.  Nonetheless, it's still freaking me out.  I plan to go to a doctor, but I want to know if I should avoid the new guy I'm dating so I don't pass along my new fun ailment.  Thoughts?  Comfort?  Could this be herpes?

the only thing the lady is at risk of is hsv1 orally and it would not have been transmitted by oral sex but simply by kissing or sharing a drink ,there is no way to know or to avoid it Dr phill.

Get it checked--see an ENT.  And, lay off the oral sex with "questionable" partners.  Why would you put yourself at risk like that?
