Gonorrhea and Rocephin Shot

My boyfriend went for a physical and says he got a call from the doctors office telling him that one of the interns used an unsterilized needle on him and that the patient before him had gonorrhea so now he has it too and that they fired the intern. They asked him to come back for testing and treatment and he called me and told me to get tested, which I did, and it came back positive and we both recieved treatment (1 shot of 125mg Rocephin intramuscular). He recieved his shot on October 29th, I recieved my shot on the morning of November 1st, and the night of November 2nd we had unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me (im on birthcontrol pills). I have two questions. Can someone really catch gonorrhea from an unsterilized needle? If we both recieved the Rocephin shot and had unprotected sex is there  a chance we reinfected ourselves, or is it okay since he got his shot way earlier than me? I never had symptoms to begin with but none of his symptoms has returned since then. I scheduled another std testing with my doctor but my appointment is two weeks away.

I had a pap smear done and about a month later I was diagnosed with genital herpes. I had never been diagnosed with that before. Is it possible that I got this at the Gynocologist?

make sure you cover other std bases too.   Assume at this point that your partner has other partners and protect yourself!

Thanks Vance and Jessy, i was googling like crazy to see if that was possible and I couldnt find anything at all about someone catching gonorrhea that way. Well I still have the appointment coming up to get retested. I'm also going to ask my doctor to see what she has to say about that scenario, but like you guys said, i think that it was lie too. I'm also going to try and give him a chance to come clean with me if my doctor does confirm it.

But of course you shouldn't worry about Hep B and HIV, as we believe this story is fabricated.

I think its safe to say, he (your boyfriend) is probably  making up this story.

If you get poked with a used needle you need to worry mainly about Hep B, and also HIV
NOT gonorrhea.

Gonorrhea is not a blood disease. So even if he did get a reused needle gonorrhea is not a concern. I think you should talk to your bf because I don't believe his story at all.

You can only get gonorrhea form sexual means. Your bf came up with this story and it is a lie.

Hi

I honestly don't believe the story about getting poked with an unsterilized gonorrhea contaminated needle.   If this story is true you or him should get a very very good lawyer for this.

"....had unprotected sex is there  a chance we reinfected ourselves, or is it okay since he got his shot way earlier than me"

There was a chance you re-infected yourselfs.   Test again in one month.
