Post Chlamydia problems

Dear MedHelp,

5 months ago I experienced discomfort in the area between my anus and scrotum. I had a mild fever, sweating easily, and general raised body temperature. I also experienced loss of erection / weak erections. I went for a full STS test, and came back positive for Chlamydia. I was treated for this, and systems improved. However, they didn't fully disappear and I have experienced pain in the same area between my anus and scrotum continually since then.

I was prescribed ciprofloxacin to treat what might be suspected as prostatitis following the STD. I took ciprofloxacin for approx two months. I had to stop taking ciprofloxacin due to side effects. The symptoms have since continued, and I have almost daily pain in my pelvic floor region.

The pain feels like my pelvic floor region is tightening up and pulling the scrotum and penis inwards. Around the anus it feels hot and tight. The whole area feels 'pinched' and sore. I also experience pain at the base of the penis, which seems to shift to pelvic floor region. The pain comes and goes in waves.

I was re-tested for STD's, and all came back negative. I cam currently waiting to get a flexible cytoscopy to see if there is anything going on in the bladder (such as a stone?)

So I'm wondering what could be causing this pain? Is it possible I still have an infection in the prostate and it doesn't show up under STD testing? Or could I possibly have a stone somewhere in the urinary tract which causes the pain to spread like this?

I've also considered I may have some kind of growth or similar in my colon which is pressing against a nerve or something in the prostate region?

I have also experienced continued erectile dysfunction, penile shrinkage. The whole area seems to have been pinched in tightly.

So I'd be happy to hear any opinions on how to move forward with this? AFAIK, they do no test semen for STD infection, so not sure where to turn to rule that out?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi, yes I did, and it was fine.. no reaction. I'm thinking now it might be  bladder stone, but only a cystoscopy will show this.. (waiting on that currently)
