Untreated Gonorrhea infection in throat?

Hi,

What would happen if a gonorrhea infection of the throat was left untreated? Would the sore throat go away on its own?

Thanks.

Most of the time STD's are not transmitted through oral sex, but if you did get it then chances are the symptoms would not show (asymptomatic). So I think you would need to test for it to be positive if you had it or not.
The Dr's on this site have said most of the time gonorrhea of the throat will clear on it's own, but it's better to test and get treated if positive. That way you know for sure it is not still in your body.
