Urinalysis Interpretation

Hey!

I went into my doctor recently to get tested for trichomoniasis, and my microscopic urinalysis results came back as the following:

Squamous Epi Cells - 0
While Blood Cells - 4
Red Blood Cells - 0

My doctor said this ruled out trichomoniasis. My question is if a microscopic urinalysis would show elevated Squamous Epi cells if there was an infection?

Would this test result also rule out Mycoplasma Genitalium?

Thanks

Just depends if they tested for it but MG wont trigger a elevated white blood count as they only live inside the cell

Hi, since they were looking for this then yes it would. Regard to MG, these could show up as normal as our body produces MG anyway and only become a negative issue if they over grow.

Thank you!

Could you clarify your statement on MG a bit more? If I had an overgrowth of MG, then that would have shown in a microscopic urinalysis right?

Can I rule out MG?
