I think your provider is clueless. they are either genital warts or they aren't. all warts, regardless of if they are on your hands, feet or genitals, are contagious through close contact. For genital warts, that's sex ( compared to hand shaking for warts on hands )

I basically spoke to a doctor and thats exactly what he said he said the bumps were to small to be genital warts. I asked them if i can spread through sexual activitya nd he said no. i even said are you sure? and he replied yes
um - they are warts on your genitals. that makes them genital warts.
there are over 130 different types of hpv. about 30 of those infect the genital area commonly. they are contagious so it's best to deal with them and have them gone. did they remove them?
I think whoever told you these aren't genital warts, was just trying to make them less scarey but really it's not a good way to present the diagnosis.
