Well Zep, if they are appearing once a year and you are scared of STDs, does that mean that you haven't done a STD check up for years??? That's bad man, go and get yourself checked...  As for the rashes that appear once a year, they can be connected with many STDs, however you say that they go away in a fortnight, so I suppose they aren't something serious, just an irritation or maybe. Furthermore, there is a chance that you are slightly showing size candidiasis (yeast overgrowth) and from your symptoms you haven't got anything to worry about...Candida depends on a living host for survival. It is a normal inhabitant of the human digestive tract from early infancy, where it lives without causing any disease most of the time. However, if the host's defenses are lowered, the organism can cause infection of the mucosa (the lining of the mouth, anus and genitals), the skin, and rarely, deep-seated infection. So if it is Candida, your body has a strong immune system and you won't have further problems. But, this is only a guess, if rashes appear to you again, GO TO THE DOCTOR and get yourself checked. The only problem I see in your case is the fact that you don't visit health institutions (most of the STD have no symptoms and when they do show some symptoms it maybe too late). So you should be more worried about your habits then those rashes that appear once a year!
