Yes it was of many STD , do you know what yuor BF which o n he was tested for/ anfd sounds slike he has soem kind problem, he best go to the DR. and yuo be tested as well .
Pointman is right - that's the same thing as an std. Venereal disease is an outdated term that some docs still use.
I wouldn't just get meds. I would get tested so you know you are getting the correct meds for whatever infection he has.
Greenish discharge indicates a bacterial infection, so he really needs to be seen. If you've performed oral sex on him, or had anal sex, make sure you tell the doc that so you can get swabbed in all places of exposure.
AJ
but last november i tested out negative for vdrl.....
is there a small possibility that it isnt an std? what other tests can confirm if you have an std.........
VDRL will only test for syphilis. It won't test for other bacterial infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhea.
I would ask for a gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis and yeast testing for you, and gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, and syphilis testing for him.
They need to look at his urine under a microscope, and if he still has the dicharge, they need to take a sample of that and check that out under the scope too.
Its possible he has a urinary tract infection, but his symptoms point more towards an std.
You both need to get checked as soon as possible.
AJ
Oh and you both should also test for HIV and herpes.
If you don't have insurance, and money is an issue, the most important ones right now, based on his symptoms, are gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU.
AJ
If you dont have insurance or money to get the terst and see dr,that AJ recomeded, there are probley fe clincs try your local health dept.
AJ gives very good advice!
Sounds like gonorrhea. Get tested, and if it is, just take the meds and you'll both be fine.
Hopefully for monogomy's sake, it's just a weird bacterial infection and not an STD he "didn't" get from you.
Good luck.
taking meds started 7 days ago if its gonorrhea how long will it take till it makes me unfertile?(hopefully not) if it was untreated ?
Its different for everyone. Its at least a few months, though.
What meds are you taking?
AJ
will that affect him also dalacin and neopenotran......
OK you are taking clindamycin (dalacin) and metrodinozole (neopenotran). They must think that you have either bacterial vaginosis or mycoplasma or ureaplasma. Did they do any testing?
Is he taking meds? Your meds won't affect him.
AJ
yeah those are the meds....no i mean will gonorrhea affect his chances of producing sperm ........well he used to take meds.then he said its gone but will gonorrhea just go away without taking meds....my doctor is gonna give m a pap smear next week..then if the so called bacteri didnt go away gonna go for sensitivity and cultivation test....really thanks ...planning to have a baby already
Gonorrhea shouldn't affect his chances of having a baby, but they aren't treating you for gonorrhea. Those meds won't cure gonorrhea.
He needs to be treated if he has gonorrhea because if you have it, it might affect YOUR chances of having a baby.
AJ
so what antibiotic should i take....really thank you for advicing me on this i'll ask my doctor for help about it as soon as possible ... you sure it wont affect him?why?...i was reading stuff about it .....please help me more thank you
Have you all tested positive for gonorrhea? For anything?
For gonorrhea, you'd both need a shot of ceftriaxone, and then would need to avoid sex for 7 days.
AJ
you sure it wont affect him and why not yet .still have my period .on sunday im gonna meet up with her ... the foul smell and greenish/yellowish discharge has gone.... thank you .. do i need a prescription for tht med how many times daily
Gonorrhea can cause problems for men, but infertility isn't one of them.
Have you tested positive for gonorrhea?? I keep asking you that, and you aren't answering me.
I can't tell you what medication you need because I don't know what you have, and because meds are often called different things in different countries.
If you haven't tested for gonorrhea, you don't know if you have that. Its possible the symptoms you had were from bacterial vaginosis and that's different than gonorrhea.
If you don't know what the doc tested you for, you need to find out.
AJ
nope not yet sorry i havent got tested yet quite busy and my doctor said i'll see her on sunday
i was supposed to go to the doctor today but my ob referred me to a wrong one anyway you sure that he will not get infertile of his chances of baby making wont get affected?WHAT
It can cause infertility in women, not in men.
AJ
We do have an infertility forum here if you are having problems getting pregnant.
