herpes and/or hiv ?

Hi Doctor,
About 5-6 weeks back, i kissed a prostitute.I had my lips torn before/during the kissing. and I TASTED BLOOD during the act A week later I started getting scared/anxious/overly anxious that i should not get any symptoms.
After about 2 weeks from the incident, i noticed pain/swelling in the lymph node(that lasted for a 15-18 hrs) under my arm .
i got panicked and did a hiv antibody test. the result came out negative.During those 2-3 days i felt extremely fatigued(not sure if it was due to anxiety or what) However i am continuously monitoring my body now..am also taking anti anxiety pills as i came across a couple of anxiety attacks.(got up 2 mornings with  shivering).
One more thing is I have been getting bad dreams everynight after the scare started.
Now in between these 2nd and 4th week i have noticed headache(5 to 6 days, each lasting for a couple of hrs).
Once noticed one of my eyes going completely red, and now in the 5th week i have found myself with a ulcer in my mouth(prolly canker sore).
plz can you help me where i stand.
I hav a history of herpes (about 6-7 years back)

Hello again,

I don't really have anything much to add to what I've said already.

"The only way to know that though for certain - and given how worried you are I think you need to check - is to have a set of STD etc tests including another HIV test. I am sure they will be normal but they will put your mind to rest"

You've asked what happens when infected saliva comes into contact with blood - I'm thinking you mean a bleeding wound? The answer would be mainly nothing much. Saliva does contain HIV but in tiny amounts and generally not very active. I have never read of or heard of an infection occurrin this way.

With respect to the ulcer and the eye, I've no idea I'm afraid.

Go and have a test and end the worry,

best regards, Sean

Hi Sean,
   Thanks for your reply.
Ok, lets consider it was my own blood. But what happens if/when infected saliva comes in contact/mixes with blood.
   I am really worried.
I can probably relate my headache to the anxiety/stress..
But why did I get the ulcer ? Why did the eye go red one night ?

  Please advise

Good Morning!

It was probably your own blood.

I think you are worried but I think extremely unlikley that you have any diseases.

The only way to know that though for certain - and given how worried you are I think you need to check - is to have a set of STD etc tests including another HIV test. I am sure they will be normal but they will put your mind to rest.

Best regards, Sean
