Gonorrhea Surprise

Someone I know got gono from giving her BF oral. She developed symptoms in her throat. Two days later, the BF got very sick with Gono. He got tested for it, and swears he didn't have sex with anyone else.

She does NOT sleep around. He may be dishonest about the whole thing because she once found e-mail exchanges between him and a sex worker, where they were planning to meet up to have sex. He denied it was him, saying that his e-mail was hacked into. He also called in sick that day, and yet made his way into town at a time when he would have been on time for his rendez-vous. He also always covers his tracks when he goes online.

Her immune system is undoubtedly better than his. Why would she get symptoms first if she got it from him? Or do symptoms develop faster in the throat that genitals? I assume the quantity of the discharge of contaminated fluid can have an impact on speed of infection?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Grace... she did get tested and will get the results soon.

From what I have read the only way to get Gono is from sexual contact. Contaminated toilet seats, sharing glasses and utensils can't get someone else sick. Would you agree on this?

odds are that he just wasn't having symptoms until after she did.  I assume your friend had proper testing to know that she did indeed have gonorrhea orally and not just something else going on that she assumes was gonorrhea due to her partner being diagnosed with it a few days later?
