Hi,
I got tested a month ago for hsv 1 and 2. The test came back negative. In fact, I routinely get tested and it yields the same result. Around the time I got tested, I started seeing someone new and we kissed on several occasions. About three weeks in, a painful ulcer inside my mouth (right side, hard palate) developed. It was almost crater-like, but I unfortunately didn't get a good look at it. I could just feel that it was slightly concave with my tongue. I went to the dentist for a cleaning and they noticed it and said it was in the healing stage, so they couldn't tell what it was, but they informed me that it HSV 1 can occur in the mouth. I was so horrified. I am always so careful, but I know in this day and age, it is hard to prevent. Its been about two weeks and I haven't had any pain in a week, but I think there is still a small red mark from where the ulcer was. I have read that primary outbreak does often occur in the mouth. I didn't notice any blisters, but I have no idea what else it could be.
Any thoughts? Thank you so much. Also, I am going to get another blood test done. How long should I wait? Thanks.
