Babies contracting STDs

Do they ever test babies/ small children for STDs such as Chlamydia or Gonorrhea to make sure they didn't contract them during vaginal birth? Because such STD's can be transmitted in the birth canal during vaginal birth. What if the mother became infected AFTER being tested at their prenatal, but before giving birth, and not even be aware that they are infected and pass it on to their baby?

I assume you have brought your child to the Dr, make an appointment and ask about chlamydia.

My son had an eye infection from birth do you think it's related if I had chlamydia and didn't know it ? My husband might have cheated on me during my pregnancy, i'm not sure. I have read about babies with eye infections from the chlamydia so Im a little worried now

This is the last question I am going to answer where you started a new thread. Keep all questions to 1 thread.

No they do not because they test the mother. If the baby gets infected during birth then you usually have signs within the 1st couple of months that something is not right in the mouth or eye area.
