Can rectal gonnorrhea be detected with a vaginal swab?

I recently was told by a partner that I gave him gonnorrhea, I get tested regularly so I thought that it wasn't possible. I went in yesterday for a full STI/STD check up. Now I'm concerned as to whether the lab would be able to detect rectal gonnorrhea if they only took a vaginal swab as a sample? I hadn't realized that the gonnorrhea could've been transmitted during anal sex. Is it possible to have had undetected rectal gonnorrhea dispire being tested regularly. The samples have always been blood, urine, and vaginal swabs?

Hi, to test for rectal gono, a swab of the rectal area would be needed so swabbing a vaginal area would not have any thing to do with the rectum. Blood testing only picks up antibodies but if some were found it could be from an old infection so blood testing is not used. The urine is tested as can find the germs in the urine as it passes through an infected urethra and the rectum does not have a urethra.
