Can an STD spread through visibly dirty clothing? Please help!

The other day I borrowed a body suit from my friend. I saw her pull it out from her drawer, so I assumed it was clean and put it on without even thinking. I went to adjust it and realized it was visibly dirty. This may be tmi, but there was what appeared to be dried discharge in the crotch area of the body suit. I know it wasn’t from me because I was not wearing it for that long when I noticed it and it was completely dry like it had been there for a long time. I was wearing a thong underneath it, but it was in very close contact with my genital area and I got really grossed out and now I’m worried. Is there a possibility that if she has an STD like chlamydia or gonorrhea, or any others that I could have contracted it through the dried discharge on it? I know that it is a really slim chance that you can get something if you share clothes, but I think I’m especially nervous because of the visible bodily fluids on it.

No, there is no risk here.

I understand the ick factor here, but if she had an STD, it would have died long before you put it on, and because you had underwear on - even a thong - it would have protected you.

Since it was dried, everything would be dead. If it had not been dried, your underwear would have protected you. Either way, you're good.

If it helps, I would have assumed it was clean if she had pulled it out of her drawer, folded, too. I wouldn't have thought a thing about it.

But really, you're fine. :)
