I was visiting India from California and it seems like I caught an STD. I just arrived back to CA and got an STD panel done yesterday. While waiting for results (which will take as long as 2 weeks for some of the results) I was hoping to get some advice. Here's a log I've been keeping:
Jan 17th start anti-malarial Mefloquine regime in USA
Jan 26th arrive in India
Jan 27th Received Oral sex. Also happened to start 7 day regime of ciprofloxacin for food borne malaise that same night
Jan 29th Lots of insect bites on my back overnight, I suspect mattress and request a room change. No more bed bug bites for the rest of my trip after room change.
Jan 31st Burning sensation while urinating. I suspect hard masturbation and that pain will subside but it doesn't.
Feb 2nd Decide to replace anti-malarial Mefloquine with doxcycyline 100mg per day since I'm not feeling great (loss of coordination in right hand and jetlagged)
Feb 4th Since burning sensation while urinating (no other symptom) hasn't subsided, and suspect an std like gonorrhea or other, and because pharmacies in India will dispense anything without a script, I self-prescribe cefixime 400mg
Feb 5th increase 100mg doxcycyine to twice daily
Feb 7th Burning sensation still there so I swallow 2000mg azithromycin
Feb 8th Use hotel body cream on penis to masturbate (mentioning this in case it's an allergic reaction)
Feb 9th Arrive back in US. New symptom, I have a painless sore on my glans that is appearing, growing more noticeable by the hour. Also I've been traveling for 30 hours and sitting so my butt and legs hurt.
Feb 10th get an STD panel done. Only symptom is the sore on my glans, glans is also a little sore, urination doesn't burn anymore.
Feb 11th I feel like the sore is subsiding. Perhaps there is a red subtle mark that is growing around the sore. The sore is completely painless.
The picture (http://imgur.com/mY5KQHL) is after the STD panel, so the center is where the Dr. pricked me with a needle. She's put me on anti-viral pills (Aciclovir) and cream (denavir) as a precaution. Any advice you can share is much appreciated!
