we will have treatment together.thank you.
and I will search about NAAT.
thank you so much..
really?
antigen tests do false positive sometimes ?
oh...I asked the doctor again..
he said
"if you get result positive with antigen testing even once,
then you have chlamydia.and even you get tested antigen testing again and even you get result of negative,it's wrong.it depends parts of your vigina.one part of your vagina may hasn't chlamydia.but even just one part has chlamydia, that means you have chlamydia right?so antigen testing can't be wrong. "
like this...I hope you'll understand my English ;(
how do you think about what he said?
Your doctor is mistaken. The chlamydia antigen detection tests often give false positive results. The best tests are nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT). To be safe, you and your partner still should be treated. But there is a good chance you are not infected after all.
Your doctor is correct about the antibody tests. They are useless -- even less reliable than the antigent detection tests.
I got tested with "antigen testing"
and the result was positive..
doctor said if I got positive with antigen testing,it's for sure that I have chlamydia now..
if I got tested with "unibody testing",I may can get false positive....
how do you think about this ?
If your sexual history is correct (if neither you nor your husband has had sex with someone else), the infection was present in one or both of you for at least a year and a half. This is uncommon, but it sometimes occurs especially in women.
Some kinds of tests for chlamydia can give false positive results. Can you find out exactly what test was done?
The important thing is that both you and your husband need treatment, and you should both be re-tested for chlamydia in about 3 months.
