That's what the doctors have been telling me, but I heard that 6 weeks after is a good time to get tested as well.
just curious, is the recommended testing time in Thailand 3 months for conclusive results?
was way too early for both of those tests dear. That provider totally wasted your time and money.
I just went to get a check up and they took an HIV/VDRL test and both came back negative. The doctor said to come back in 3 months and get another check up, but he said this was good results.
Thanks! Yes the pimples have already gone away for the most part, all that is left is a couple red spots. I will get a full std test within 6 weeks I think when I still am in Thailand. I have been reading up on this site and it says that the CSW are now pretty low risk of HIV compared to when the major outbreak happened in the 90's and I do not know why this lady would lie to me. I guess I am just worried as with everyone cause it can happen. I am also circumcised which they say cuts down the risk of getting HIV as well. Yes it was a one time encounter, but I am not sure how long the condom was off before I pulled out so it still worries me a little.
Cheers everyone.
std's don't show up the next day. odds are your pimples aren't std related but certainly if they are still there in a few days, follow up properly on them.
you can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes and hiv at the 3 month mark.
it's low risk of any std from a one time, mostly protected encounter but certainly proper follow up is good for peace of mind :)
