Most likely noticed a canker or rashes. But I suggest since you have a partner just go test
Ha...not really. Obviously guilt is driving this sense of panic. I haven't had any symptoms over the two years of any type of STD so I don't know why Syphilis would be of concern to me compared to all of the others. Wouldn't you think I would have noticed a chancre or the rashes on the hands and feet or something by now? The last time I engaged in oral sex was over three months ago in June. Before that it was early spring.
In a population of 314 million...does it really sound like a lot now?
Syphilis in general is rare in developed countries about 10,000 or so cases each year. Syphilis canker is something that in the mouth is tough to spot at times
I'm not concerned regarding the other stds because I have been on a few rounds of antibiotics for unrelated things lately so am fairly sure those would have been taken care of if I had acquired any. Boy, I'll never do this again!
Thanks Vance. I"m a closeted bisexual man, so am feeling guilt that I stupidly put my wife at risk through this exploration. She has never had chancre or rash either so I'm fairly confident I haven't picked it up, but will probably test to ease my mind. It seems to me oral sex is still relatively safe sex in terms of acquiring HIV or syphilis. Why does there seem to be such a heightened sense of panic online about how easy it is to get syphilis from someone performing oral on you? Is it more common than I think?
No you should not be concerned, but why not test that will either ease your mind of let you get treatment.
