discordant syphylis testing

Scenario: asymptomatic woman requests STD testing due to cheating husband.

RPR positive at 1:1
FTA-ABS nonreactive

State autoreferral RPR positive at 1:2
Treponemal IgG EIA nonreactive
TP-PA reactive

Is this most likely a false positive low titer RPR? And then why the positive TP-PA?

are these your test results? if so, make sure you also seek out herpes igg blood testing too at least 3 months after you last had sex with your partner to see what your status is.

ok than I'd wait a month and repeat your testing again at this point to see if your titers change significantly or not.

As far as I know the same sample was used for the state referral test, but if not it was within days of the initial test.

I curbsided an ID doc and his suggestion was to retest soon to see if the titer goes up. Apparently the public health doc offered to treat, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.

Yes that is possible.
Also another possibility could mean an early infection where not all antibodies have been produced.
