I got rid of mine by scraping off the tops of those suckers and drowning them with alcohol. And whatever you do, dry the affected areas LAST after you shower. And pat dry, don't rub dry.
well im finally molluscum free. I am so happy. A couple of days ago i got tested for any other stds but im all clean. But now i can have my life back. If any has problems use the a needle and the alchol techinque. It works good.
Hi Mike -
Well, there are a lot of stigmas surrounding STDs, and 99% of them are based on inaccuracies. Nothing is as bad as people make them out to be.
Aj
yeah that does make sense. I mean it dont really look that gross, it just ***** that it is classified as a STD. And I know how some ppl think about that. oh yeah i forgot to introduce myself lol You can call me Mike
No, I've not had molluscum. I dated a guy with it though. We ended up not having sex, but that was for other reasons. It honestly didn't bother me a bit, and I was glad he told me. It showed me that he was honest, ya know?
Aj
Thanks for the advice. I really do need to tell her. I feel like im lieing to her. I mean it looks like it is clearing up really good. I would give it another month or two and it should be gone. Have you ever had this infection?
You can tell her, but you should still not have sex with her. If she leaves you for this - a temporary thing - then she isn't the right woman for you.
You might also consider getting them treated by a doctor - they might go away faster.
Aj
Hey guys i have been suffering from this infection since april of 2008 and it is now august of 2008. I have it in my gential area. It has cleared up alot, it was alot worse. I have tried zymaderm, it may have worked but not as good as it say it does. But what i have noticed works pretty good is taking a needle cutting the lesion and putting 50% percent alcohol and 50% percent water. I tried using pure alcohol but it broke my skin out. But my question is, I have been going out with this girl i know for bout 3 months, and i havent told her about it cuz im afriad she will leave me. And i dont want to have sex with her cuz i dont wont to spread to her. So What do you think i should do? Should I tell her or not?
Dude - none of this has anything to do with being "clean" or healthy or working out.
You could get molluscum from gym equipment, using someone else's towel, etc.
I'm not even saying you have it, or you don't. No one can make that diagnosis over the internet, ok? You asked for info on molluscum, and I gave you some. I also suggested that you talk to your doc about a biopsy. That's really the only 100% way to know what this is.
I didn't bring up HPV except in response to Uppa's post about phototherapy. But just an FYI - 90% of HPV infections are asymptomatic, so you might not have ever seen a wart or any HPV symptoms on a partner, and condoms only offer about 70% protection against HPV.
I have herpes, and am very "clean" as well. Being clean didn't prevent me from getting herpes, so its best that you get some more info about stds and transmission.
AJ
but what doesn't make sense to me is i've always use a condom when i have/had sex and i still got MCV. so i dont know where i could have picked up the infection. your also suggesting that it could be genital warts, when i've never had contact (that i know of) with genital warts. i'm a very clean person, to the point that it can be anal retentive, i'm also very healthy, i work out and ride my bike a lot, i eat right. so like i said i'm at a loss of word as to how i got it and the fact its taking so damn long to go away
when i had a single wart on my foot, that was 10-12 years ago and i've never seen one on my body since.
HPV is what causes warts, but the wart on your foot would be a different strain than warts on your genitals. There are over 100 strains of hpv, and they affect different parts of the body. What you get on your foot won't affect your genitals, and what you get on your genitals won't affect your feet.
AJ
Uppa do you drink that or cover the infected area?
auntiejessi no on the biospie
HPV? thats what causes warts right? when i was like 11 or 12 i had a (1) wart on my foot. i used a pair of toenail clippers to cut it off and put some compound w on it and it was gone. never seen one since
Uppa -
Those phototherapy claims are untrue, and those companies are being investigated and warned by the FDA for false claims.
Its a waste of money, and companies are preying on people who are trying hard to get rid of things that will either go away on their own (HPV and molluscum) or that they will have forever.

I wouldn't use alcohol on it man, like AJ said, you could be killing off good bacterial. Sorry to hear about the silver stuff not working too. Aldera should only cost you about $150 after seeing a doctor, but it's not sure to work. I had one teeny little HPV bump and used aldera on it for over 5 weeks with absolutely no effect, but that's just my body. It may work great for you.
about 10 days ago I had my first MCV break out. I had no idea about it, what it was, where it comes from etc etc... but after all the reading I did, about 9000 hours worth, I found that apple cider vinegar and baking soda work fine for ME. Like I said - 10 days and it's almost TOTALLY GONE. I can't even feel it anymore and I can BARELY see it. maybe 10 or so teeny teeny spots, no itching at all. It's great.
Try that for 4 or 5 days - 3 x a day, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar along with a full glass of water with a 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda totally dissolved in it.
If that doesn't work - I read about phototherapy working wonders for MCV, HPV and Herpes. It's weird, but apparently a lot of doctors use it for their patients. It involves infared light and some special magic syrum that you rub on your effected spots to allow the UV light to pass through and wipe out the stuff. Apparently, 3 treatments of that 72 hours appart and your'e in the clear.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Has this been biopsied to make sure its molluscum?
The actual time this can last is 2 weeks to 4 years, with the average being 4 years.
Ask your doc for aldara, so you can treat it at home.
I wouldn't use the alcohol because you might be killing off good bacteria on your skin that could help keep the rest in check.
