Don't know what it is?

I have been with my boyfriend for about 5 years. We are sexually active and he has been my only sexual partner (although I think he may have had other sexual partners but he insists he was a virgin when he met me). About 2 years ago, I found a bump on the inside of my labia majora. It was a tiny bump, the same colour of my skin but it itched like crazy, more so when I touched it.

I went to my doctor, who looked at it and couldn't tell me what it was. Although I did a pap smear but never got a call back from my doctor's office (so I just assumed that everything was okay).

2 years later and the bump is still there. It has not spread anywhere else, and the bump has not changed at all. It is still itchy, but not as much as before, but still itches when I touch it.

I had my boyfriend get a STD test. I went with him for the results and he was supposedly clear - except he wasn't checked for ghonorrea or chlymidia. After the bump, I got checked for STDs (thinking my boyfriend lied to me about being a virgin). The results came back clean.

I have been researching on the internet and is it possible that this bump is  Molluscum Contagiosum?

please help. My doctor doesn't seem to know much about the bump.

Molluscum can spread rapidly, so I am thinking its not that.  HPV can have one warts, but again, it would be very unlikely for either of those to linger this long.

The best thing to do is just follow up with your doc and ask for it to be biopsied.

Thanks AJ. If it was genital warts would it likely have spread (more on me OR possibly to him)

Also what about mulluscom? from what i read on the net it seems like it is possible

sorry I'm really anxious about this

Yes, sorry.  HPV is what causes genital warts.

HPV can also cause cell changes on your cervix, but the types that cause that and the types that cause warts are different strains of the same virus.

AJ, are genital warts and HPV the same thing?

That doesn't sound like HPV, and HPV doesn't usually linger this long.

Thanks AJ.

I forgot to mention that my boyfriend and I continued to be sexually active after this and he never got a bump and it never spread anywhere on me.

We have always used a condom, with the exception of 2 times (i know that it only takes once without a condom to get an std etc).

I was just discouraged by my doctor because she couldn't tell me what it was and told me it could be anything.

The bump hasn't changed at all, although when it gets itchy and I itch it (which I probably shouldn't) the centre of the bump will bleed a bit.

I'm just really paranoid about it being genital warts/HPV.

You could have your doc biopsy it.

It doesn't sound like a bump associated with an std.  It would be very rare for any of them to linger for 2 years.
