Dull pain in testicles

I had protected sex with someone I consider to be a high risk of STD's.  I feel a dull pain in my testicles starting a day or two after the encounter.  I was tested for all STD's, at least all common, 3 days after the encounter and results were negative.  It has been almost one week since the encounter and I am still extremely anxious about the pain.  Can the symptoms be related to anxiety?  Can STD's take longer than this to show up on tests?  Please let me know.  Thanks for your help

I hope you get a stern warning from the moderators in regards to your obvious misinformation. If you believe that such information given in these forums is incorrect please cite your your references. The probability to get an STD while using a condom correctly and consistently is minimal and 100% effective in preventing HIV transmission. Please take the time to review the "ask the doctor" STD forum in order to educate yourself in such matters.

i'm only posting this because i am appalled at the misinformation being bandied about on this forum.  MANY STDs take MUCH longer than three days to show up on STD tests!!!!  HIV antibodies, for instance, can take up to two months or more before they can be detected!!!!!  Three days after an encounter is NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TIME to wait before an STD test can yield accurate results!!!!  Why are people posting this irresponsible misinformation?!?  YES YOU MIGHT HAVE AN STD!!!  Condoms are NOT 100% effective!  they are not even 90% effective against all STDs!  Many STDs are spread through skin contact.  if your condom doesnt cover everything, then those uncovered areas can be exposed to STDs thru skin to skin contact.  Also, i haven't heard ANYTHING about one of the most prevalent STDs; HPV.  it is very common, very easy to get and to spread and has few symptoms.  this does not mean it is not serious.  it is.  it CAN CAUSE TESTICULAR PAIN and it can lead to cancer!  there is no test to determine the presence of hpv in men, hence it is spread by millions of people unwittingly.  it can lead to cancer, so it is NOT to be taken lightly.  people on forums like this have their hearts in the right place by trying to calm people's fears, but it is irresponsible to spread misinformation that can lead people to engage in risky behavior or to neglect symptoms that could be indicators of STDs.
