Epidydimitis and Oral Sex

I have been treated for epidydimitis for about 3 weeks now, it having come back for the second time after my first infection about a year ago. Most of my symptoms have gone, although some pain persists at times. I have been taking doxycicline. I highly doubt that my epididymitis was sexually transmitted, as it had been approximately 8 months since my last sexual encounter, which was protected, when I first got the infection. I recently received oral sex from my girlfriend and am curious as to whether or not this infection can be spread to her through oral sex. Thanks a lot.

Have you been tested for stds?

Its possible that whatever is causing the infection - and you are right, its not always sexually transmitted, could be transmitted to your gf during oral sex.  Its tough to say without knowing what the bacteria causing it is.

Any time you have symptoms, you should avoid sexual contact.
