False positive

Can a herpes test be wrong if it says positive? I have had issues but have never had any types of sores. Could they be wrong?

No blood test. Just a swab. Thank you for the help though.

Hello again,

Find out what types of testing you got.  Was it IgG or IgM. Did they draw blood?

Also I am not well versed in herpes, so I'll make sure GracefromHHP gets this message.   She is an expert in this STD.   Feel free to post in the herpes community forum and she can help you alot better than I can for specifics.

Goodluck.

I'm not sure. I have had itching and burning for about 10 years years but was always told I had vulvadynia and not an std. I hav been married for 7 years now and just started experiencing small slits or cuts on my labia. Which my mother had at my same age. I did some reading on the net n saw someone said they had same kind of cuts and had herpes. So I told them to swab me. They called and said I had type 2. I have never gotten a bump or sore or anything. And I've gone thru a lot of therapy for vulvadynia. I'm so confused and upset.

Hello

They could be wrong.   What type of test did you take?  For which one?
